Career development for (pre)final year PhD candidates & postdocs "The next step in my career"

About this course
Your career, your choice! The workshop 'Career development for PhD candidates and postdocs' is a 2 (separate)-day workshop for final year PhD candidates and postdocs in the Radboudumc focusing on personal and career development of young scientists.
The first day focuses on 'what drives me?' and the career orientation by means of peer-to-peer or discussions in small groups with the invited guests. You will receive a homework assignment.
The second day focuses on your personal skills and you will set the goals for the future with the concrete next steps.

Aimed at
For final year PhD candidates and postdocs in the Radboudumc who wants to find own drive to proceed towards a succesful and fulfilling career.

You will learn
The life of an early career researcher is very demanding. Most of your precious time is probably dedicated to the acquisition of data for publication or grant writing, which are the key determinants for the success as a scientist. But are you sufficiently aware of your role as a scientist in society? Do you take a moment to look at your own development: your abilities, preferences and ambitions? Get inspired for what's next is the main theme of this workshop.
Skills and abilities: Individuality, entrepreneurship, vision developing.

Time schedule
Two full-day course days (2x 8 hours), with additional assignments between the classes (2 x 4 hours). The total study load of this course is 24 hours.

Be aware: minimum 12 and maximum of 26 seats are available; first come, first served!

Terms and conditions
Free of charge: if you opt out less than 2 weeks before the onset of the course, or if you do not show up on training days, you will be charged a fee of €125 for administrative costs.
